There used to be a time when national fiction was the natural choice of content for children and young audiences. In the television landscape of the 2020s, this is no longer the case, and all Nordic broadcasters are trying to find the best ways to attract and sustain the young viewers.
Building on case studies from the research project ‘Reaching Young Audiences: Serial fiction and cross-media storyworlds for children and young audiences’ (supported by Independent Research Fund Denmark 2019-2023), this talk presents current strategies and examples of best practice when producers are trying to make relevant and engaging content by encouraging input, participation, and co-creation from the very outset of creating new series.
Session: Co-creating Content with Children and Young Audiences
